Is it possible to charter the ship without the crew?

No. The caiccos are particular ships; they way they are built require a particular experience to be piloted and the crew, captain included, are always present.  

What is the size of the cabin?

There are no standard dimensions. But Maddalena has been built in such a way that all the cabins are similar in size. At request, and an extra price, the larger aft cabin, naturally where the captain sleeps can be booked as well.
The cabins of our caicco each have a large bed, 2,00m x 1.60m. All the cabins have their own bathroom with sink, head (toilet) and shower. Usually, luggage is stored in the closet or under the bed. All the cabins also have a small window

Which type of luggage should I bring?

It is best to bring only one luggage, preferably soft, and foldable for easy storing and less chance of damaging the boat, not hard; duffle bags, and backpacks, or carry bags are best to keep in the cabin for your own clothes and personal items. We remind you that the cabin is equipped with sheets, and towels. We also have equipment for snorkelling for 5 guests, but it is possible to bring your own equipment which will find place in other parts of the ship. For bigger or dangerous equipment (e.g. air tanks, fishing rods, and general scuba equipment) it is best talk to the owner or captain at the time of booking.

When sailing it is necessary to help the crew in the manoeuvres or in the cleaning?

No. The crew does everything necessary: buys the supplies, prepares the meals, and cleans the ship and does all the necessary sailing and port manoeuvres. If the guests wish to help, they need permission from the captain.

Is there a phone on the caicco?

No. The caicco has a VHF radio, connected constantly with the port authorities. It is possible to use personal cell phones, when coverage is present. The phone batteries can be recharged on board during navigation time or when the generator is being used.

What is the type of electricity is on the caicco?

During navigation, in the ports and when the generator on board is utilized 220V electricity is available. Otherwise, the electrical systems are needed for the services on board, water pumps etc...The caicco also has 24V electricity to recharge batteries, phones, cameras, laptops, etc. We also have and onboard converter which generates electricity at 220V to keep the group freezers and water systems fully functional.

Is it the right kind of vacation for kids?

Being a vacation, in contact with nature, and the sea, kids usually find life on board the caicco exciting and enjoyable. Naturally, they have to know how to swim and not be afraid of the water; this is an indispensable condition to be able to enjoy this type of vacation. Also, as part of the trip, our young guests will be able to learn from the captain, who will be available to share his knowledge of the fundamentals of living on the water.

Is it possible to practice water sports?

Yes, our caicco is equipped with fins, masks and all the necessities for water skiing and tubing thanks to our potent tender and the rubber rings.

Are all the meals on board?

  The choice is up to the guests, when it is possible. In the case in which supplies are requested, the crew prepares the meals on the base of a preset menu, depending on the food available in the area of cruising. Otherwise, shopping will be done according to the requests of the guests, when possible. Our suggestion is to have the meals on board, leaving 3 or 4 dinners in the restaurants suggested from us, economical, but positioned in spectacular places and of course enjoying the Greek cuisine. .

Is it possible to go land excursion?

Yes, using the tender it is possible to get to almost anywhere and, if time permits, you could set up a stay along with an excursion.

Which are the night activities?

The program on board does not provide night entertainment, so the guests can organize their nights as they wish. On board there are table games and cards. There is an onboard TV set, with DVD player and a stereo system and CD player. On request, it is possible to visit clubs and discos on the islands, even docking right in front of them is space allows.

 In case of bad weather and high seas, what happens??

Our Caicco Maddalena sails almost exclusively near the coast or in well protected areas, where there are rarely high seas. The captain has lots of experience and always decides what is safe for everyone onboard and his ship. When he decides not to sail due to bad weather or sea conditions, siding with caution, his decision is definite.
