Maddalena is a caicco, two mast motor/sailing ship of Turkish origin, built entirely with wood, and is very spacious. In the past, these types of ships were intended only for fishing and for cargo, but thanks to their special shape and structure they have become widely used as charter and cruise ships.
Maddalena has been launched in 2008 and represents the a wonderful marriage between the ancient tradition of sailing and the evolution of our times, it's body and hull of the ship, being made of laminated mahogany, acquires much more beauty and structural strength creating a watertight seal and a more stable ride in rougher seas. Like all the best ships of this kind, Maddalena is equipped with a powerful Diesel engine, two spankers sails and a jib sail. Its shape, width, height, and deeper than usual keel, along the entire hull, ensure greater comfort and manoeuvrability than the classical boats.
Thanks to Maddalena you are going to have the opportunity to visit the Ionian Greek islands sailing from beautiful Lefkada (Lefkas or Leukade) arriving to the mythological Itaca, the splendid
Cefalonia and why not the poetic Zante! All these islands boast infinite numbers of small bays, natural inlets, caves, fantastic sea beds. You can discover enchanting places on small uninhabited islands in the sea and Greek culture which is historically connected to nearby Italy.
